A cross-promotion with the WWE’s annual Summerslam event, cutesy skins depicting professional wrestling stars Asuka, Xavier Woods, and The Undertaker will be available for Fall Guys players to purchase from July 28 to August 1. Special nameplates and emotes will also be available to pick up for a limited time. It’s an interesting move from a marketing perspective; Fall Guys is no stranger to these sorts of promotions, though it’s almost always been done with other video game franchises such as Bugsnax and Astro’s Playroom.

The Summerslam tie-in will be coming hot on the heels of the new Fall Guys Clan of Yeetus event which will see classic minigames remixed with a bunch of added obstacles. While this may confuse newcomers, it makes for an excellent draw for returning players who haven’t picked up the game in quite some time. There’s also a new battle pass accompanying what the developer has dubbed the first season of the game’s new “Free For All” phase, so even players who aren’t particularly interested in getting their hands on WWE cosmetics will have a reason to log in.
These aren’t the only updates that have Fall Guys fans interested. According to Fall Guys YouTuber and dataminer Pancake - Fall Guys Leaks, a new stage based on Sonic the Hedgehog’s Green Hill Zone—which has creatively been retitled Bean Hill Zone—is in the works. It appears to have been designed for the oft-bemoaned team games such as Hoopsie Daisy and Team Tail Tag, both of which seem like thematically appropriate modes for a Sonic-themed level.
It’s hard to know how long the Fall Guys trend will continue, but, with surging player counts thanks to the transition to free-to-play and more content apparently coming down the pipeline, the game’s lifecycle appears to have been considerably extended. Plus, with a plethora of pop culture tie-ins, Fall Guys may have a chance to equal the ubiquity of publisher Epic Games’ other mega-hit Fortnite.
Fall Guys is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
