When players factor in the main story quest, the multiple factions, the settlement options, and the miscellaneous quests; it’s clear that there is definitely plenty of story to explore. That said, Skyrim’s list of categories and quests seems to blow Fallout 4 out of the water.

Despite the fact that Skyrim clearly wins the contest for number of quests available, there is still plenty to do in the world of Fallout. Most gamers have probably finished the main story quest at this point, but what gives Fallout legs is the number of hours that can be spent outside of quests building settlements, exploring the massive map, or playing with mods.
Skyrim stayed relevant for years after its initial release not because of the number of quests that the game contained (though that does help), but because the world is exciting and fun to explore. This is just as true for Fallout 4 and although it is hard to predict how long the hype will last, after the first few months many gamers are still clocking dozens of hours per week in the wasteland.
If questing is your favorite part about playing Fallout, then there is still no need to worry. The planned DLC packs will definitely include some new quests and maybe even some underwater adventures if the rumors are true. Bethesda has spent a lot of timing working on Fallout 4 and the company is going to do everything in its power to keep the community engaged and active for as long as possible.
