Created by Delicon20, “Mutant Menagerie: Nuclear Safari” is a custom mod for Fallout 4 that comes packed with new content. As the name suggests, this add-on brings new mutated creatures to Boston, specifically to Nuka-World. The description says that players will discover exotic beasts and more “classic creatures” like giraffes. This is actually an extension of a couple of previous “Mutant Menagerie” mods, as noted by DSO Gaming, and implements some assets from the previous iterations while also adding new things. On top of this, there are some new recipes and high-level world bosses.

In the vanilla experience alone, Fallout 4 has a lot of tough encounters from the likes of Deathclaws and Super Mutant Behemoths. With this latest installment of “Mutant Menagerie,” it sounds like players are going to have more to deal with as they explore the world. Of course, there are some passive creatures as well, so it doesn’t seem like all these new beasts are going to be hostile.
This is just one of many ways that the community is helping to extend the life of this entry and others in the series. With the ambitious Fallout 4 mod “Fallout London” getting a demo recently, which is an add-on that turns England’s capital city into a wasteland, there are a multitude of ways that fans can keep playing, expanding the already vast world, filling it with a ton of extra content, and just generally increasing Fallout’s shelf life.
While many would consider 2010’s New Vegas to be the superior entry in the franchise, Fallout 4 is still a pretty solid game, and the fact that there are a ton of mods out there means players can have new experiences. With Bethesda currently working on Starfield, it’s probably going to be a long time before Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 emerge. Both games are hugely anticipated, but at least they are on the way.
Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
