While Apple fans have been having their fun as virtual Overseers since Fallout Shelter’s release in June, Bethesda has been promising that non-iOS users would soon be able to construct and maintain Vaults of their own next month. Thankfully, during the game developer’s presentation at QuakeCon today, Bethesda has officially announced the release of Fallout Shelter for Android devices on August 13, 2015. Additionally, the free-to-play title’s launch on the Google-developed operating system will be accompanied by huge updates.

One of the new improvements includes the addition of Mr. Handey – Fallout’s famous robot assistant – to the game. While it’s still up in the air as to how players will acquire the character, the droid’s reveal indicated that he was some kind of an award. At any rate, once people obtain Mr. Handey, the robot will roam around players’ Vaults, and automatically collect resources along the way. Gamers can also send the floating automaton out into the Wasteland to either explore or defend the shelter from attackers.

Furthermore, the update provides Fallout Shelter with a variety of fresh attacks and new adversaries. For example, Deathclaws – arguably the universe’s most fearsome monster – will assault Vaults in the same vein of Raiders. Plus, Molerats and Radroaches are being added as infuriating infestations to deal with as well. By including these enemies, Bethesda is obviously attempting to make Fallout Shelter as close of a recreation to the proper console titles as possible, so it’s a wonder if other creatures like Ghouls and Mirelurks might make it into later patches.

Bearing all of this in mind, the latest overhaul for the game will launch simultaneously for both iOS and Android on August 13. And since Fallout Shelter has already proven its mettle with the aforementioned financial success on Apple products, as well as its defeat of the once-dominant Candy Crush Saga in the iOS App Store rankings, there’s no doubt that the sales for Bethesda’s mobile title will shoot through the roof once Android users get their hands on the game.

Fallout Shelter is available now for iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, and as previously said, is set to release for Android on August 13, 2015.
