The original rollout of the PTS came ahead of Fallout 76’s massive Wastelanders expansion that brought NPCs and a whole new set of quests to the game. Naturally, with so much changing about the game with the update, bugs, glitches, and overall disappointing features were going to be on the table, with players giving feedback through PTS enhancing the process and final product significantly. However, Bethesda’s biggest mistake came with their apparent bait and switch of the canvas bag they promised consumers that bought the $200 Power Armor Edition with a cheap nylon bag. Fans were, rightfully, upset as they felt cheated and outright lied to by Bethesda. Originally, the Power Armor Edition was supposed to include a canvas West Tek duffel bag with a wearable T-51b helmet. Once those who forked over their hard earned cash for the special edition opened the box, they realized what had happened....
Now, with Bethesda releasing Fallout 76: Wastelanders this week, it seems the game is attempting to gain a second wind. Despite all of the controversy and outcry, the game has stuck around while Bethesda has worked to improve the experience. This latest DLC appears to be the fruit of its labor, and while it’s not necessarily Fallout 76’s saving grace, the expansion is taking the game in a positive direction....
The post-apocalyptic online game has managed to please a small section of the fan base of the series, and these players will be able to enjoy a new adventure as well as several fixes.
