While the original Fallout: New Vegas is a fan-favorite for many Fallout players, there is one feature the next game should steal from CD Projekt Red’s upcoming and hotly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. Adding this feature could help take open-world RPGs into the next generation of gaming, and restore the Fallout name among fans after the disappointment of recent entries by focusing on elevating the franchise’s and the genre’s strengths, not overcoming its weaknesses....

As seen by DSO Gaming, modder cgy95 has recently put out a custom add-on for Fallout: New Vegas called “Race to the Bottom,” and it sounds pretty aspirational. Described as a “medium-sized” mod, it’s estimated to be around two hours in length, about the same size as Fallout 4’s “Automatron” DLC that came out in 2016. In cgy95’s project, players are tasked with tracking down robbers while exploring a new dungeon....

Yes, the Bethesda-created post-apocalyptic role playing game got a bit of a makeover in the form of a recreation in the style of an 8-bit game. Not just any 8-bit game, either, but a Japanese one. With the release of the trailer, fans of the post-apocalyptic franchise no longer have to live in a world where Fallout 4 is an uncertainty. In a 10-minute-long video, YouTuber Ded String showcases the fruits of their efforts–a visually stunning take on the world of Fallout 4, which incorporates 205 individual mods. Earlier this month, a Twitter user by the name of Oscar Armstrong-Davies posted a prediction of the Fallout 76 map that he had created based off an image of the map that had been featured in a Noclip documentary about the making of the game. Things went south for a particular Fallout cosplayer in Grande Prairie, Canada when he decided to walk through town in his power armor cosplay, carrying a New California Republic flag. The costume enthusiast was apparently on his way to Lynn’s Alterations at Bell Tower Plaza to have same changes made to his wardrobe when a few of the locals became alarmed. After seeing some of the props attached to the costume, multiple residents called the local police and reported a suspicious individual roaming the streets with a gasmask and a bullet proof vest....

The Malaysian FA (FAM) has refuted Kelantan advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa’s claim that the association owes Kelantan around RM2 million (around 370,000 British Pound) in grants and prize money, and hit back saying that it’s the Red Warriors that owe FAM. In a statement issued on Thursday, FAM secretary-general Dato’ Hamidin Amin explained that the grants and broadcast revenue have already been distributed, and several forms of payment to clubs in the Super League and Premier League do not exist anymore....

Salvatore Anello, 50, has appeared in a Puerto Rico court for the first time on November 20 charged with the negligent homicide of his granddaughter Chloe Wiegand, who died after falling from the 11th floor of Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas while it was docked in San Juan on July 7. But that idea, and just about everything else the Indians tried, was tossed away. Expressing their passion for Fallout: New Vegas, Reddit user Tunnelsnakefool shared an image of their Yes Man figure standing on a ledge near the Hoover Dam, showing the important Fallout location from an optimal angle. The Yes Man is introduced early on in Fallout: New Vegas and it shares some similarities with other Securitrons but acts as Benny’s AI servant, unlike the other bots. Given his pleasant face and usually happy demeanor, Fallout: New Vegas fans have gravitated toward the unique PDQ-88b compared to the other Securitron units, and Tunnelsnakefool is no different as they own a Yes Man figure that stands at just over a foot tall....

That doesn’t sit well with some publishers, of course, and now one of the gaming industry’s biggest is doing something about it. Bethesda has officially announced that it will no longer provide advance review copies of its titles - a library which includes Fallout 4, Skyrim: Special Edition, and DOOM - with the caveat that media outlets can expect to receive these games roughly a day before they actually launch....

While the humans in the conflict have top-tier weaponry, their attempt for survival in the war between robots and mankind is not without its complications. After all, the normal versions of Fallout 4’s Sentrybots and Assaultrons have been given upgrades with powerful fireballs, lasers, as well as thick shells of armor. And since Fallout 4’s setting is inspired by the actual environments, landscapes, and landmarks that populate Boston, it’s sensible to assume that other features in the game have been brought about by ideas from reality as well....

Fallout 5 should take a leaf out of BioShock’s book. There’s one key element of the BioShock series that used to be present in the Fallout games, but has fallen to the wayside in Bethesda’s additions to the franchise. Taking inspiration from BioShock doesn’t come without risks, however, with BioShock going through its own changes that could make it more similar to Fallout.
